The main premise of the card game is to be dealt cards totaling up to twenty one. Each gambler is assigned two cards. When a gambler is dealt a 9 or lower value card and an Ace they’ve been given a soft hand. When the player receives no Ace cards it is known as a hard hand. As soon as the cards have been given to all players at the table, which includes the dealer, each player is given the chance to make one of 6 actions:

Requesting another card (Hit): When a blackjack player announces "hit" the croupier will deal him another card, if the adding of that card causes the total greater than twenty-one the player will have lost and be excluded from the game, if the card makes the value of the hand to 21 the blackjack player will be the winner and if the total hasn’t yet achieved twenty-one they are still in the game.

Keeping the hand you’ve been given: If a player is satisfied with the hand they’ll stand. Once this has happened the dealer will reveal his or her hand and the black jack player who has gotten twenty one or the closet to twenty one will come away with a win.

Doubling Down: A gambler might request to double down which increases the wager by one hundred percent they have laid. Once you have taken this procedure you can only be given 1 additional card. The details of doubling down are normally out lined by the blackjack table or casino rules so prior to competing make sure you’re comfortable with the house game rules. If you’re gambling at an online casino this is normally quite easy.
